Where is your office located?
Like most therapists, I have an office space. I have a private office located in my home (Broadlands area, Ashburn, Virginia).

Office hours?
My office hours are somewhat dependent on my client’s availability.
I see some clients as early as 8 am and some as late as 7 pm.
I try to make myself available for clients Monday through Friday and take the weekends off for family time.
How long is a typical session?
Unlike most therapists who only do 50-minute sessions, I give you 60 full minutes of my time, focus, and attention.
Do you see individuals? Couples? Families?
Yes, I see all the above! I also see some teens and kids.
What is the hourly fee?
My typical fee is $300/hour.
Rates for concierge therapy services vary depending on time needed and distance travelled.
How do I pay?
I accept cash, checks, Venmo (app), Apple pay, and Google pay.
Do you accept insurance?
I do not accept any insurance plans.
Upon request, I will provide a statement containing all necessary information for you to seek reimbursement from your insurance for service by an out-of-network provider.
What is your cancellation policy?
With exception of emergency situations, I require at least a 24-hour notice for cancellations.
If a session is cancelled with less than 24 hours before the scheduled appointment, a session fee will be charged.
What are you like as a therapist?
During our sessions, nothing is more important to me than you. My clients tell me that I am very understanding, laid back, non-judgmental, and that empathy is my superpower.
My partner and daughters tell me that I’m a great listener, selfless, and dedicated to the people that I care for and serve as clients.
Although I live in Northern Virginia, I will always be a Vermonter at heart. You will often find me at home with family, building things in my shop, standing in a river fly fishing, or going for walks with my dog.
I love a good IPA, a nice plaid shirt, a mellow whiskey, occasional cigars, and delicious Vermont maple syrup.
You can look at my Testimonials page for more information on what my clients are saying about working with me.
Are you LGBTQIA friendly?
Absolutely. I am friendly to any gender, race, creed, belief system, sexual orientation, and sexual preference.
I also treat clients in non-traditional relationships, including polyamory, open-relationships, kinky, swingers, etc.
You will be welcomed with open arms and zero judgment about your lifestyle choices.
How long will I be in therapy?
This really depends on you. I have worked with clients for as few as 6-8 sessions and have worked with others for several years.
I will start by seeing clients weekly; at a point where things start getting better, we will transition to bi-weekly sessions.
Then, we will slowly move to every three weeks, once a month, and as needed.
Do you offer phone or video sessions?
Yes.
How long have you been in practice?
I have been practicing since the early 2000’s and have done pre-marital, marriage, individual, couples, group, family, and in-home counseling for a variety of different mental health diagnoses.
What do you enjoy about being a therapist?
Everything! I love my job and often brag to my wife when I get home about how much I love what I do.
I love having deep conversations, building therapeutic relationships, and getting to know and being curious about my clients’ lives.
Have you been in therapy yourself?
Yes! I have gone through and still do some of my own work.
We are never fully done with therapy, and it is my belief that the therapeutic relationship can be a needed respite and safe place during times of difficulty.
Am I allowed to ask personal questions?
Absolutely! The therapeutic relationship is about trust, and I will be open and honest about my life as well.
I try to normalize things as much as possible for my clients and will sometimes share some of my own experiences to help you feel more human.
